Being a lefty sucks sometimes.

I hate when I sit down in lecture and the desk is left handed. I dislike getting up again.

^ I hate it when I sit down in class and the desk is right handed. All the time. So I have yet to know the joy of having an armrest while writing 5 hours worth of exams :)

Then again, I love being left handed. I’m kind of right handed too, for everything but things that require a small stick (yeah, that’s what she said) Like I play sports with my right and feel like I’m more “accurate” when I use my right hand. :D

you should try baseball, lefties have an upperhand on most of the righties in the game.

@SecretAsianMan.
Learn the left-hand rule. :P

I’m a lefty and Canadian too. Hey! I just hate writing with a pencil. I keep getting smudges on my palm. :(

^ Really? Oh man we should team up against smileyyy then.

Left-handed + Canadian = Win
Hahahah.

Being a lefty must suck. So much extra work in life.

Has anyone else seen the lefty age chart thing? It’s insane. (I’m talking about the one that shows that lefties have a shorter life expectancy.)

^ I heard (don’t know if it’s true) that 5000 left-handed people in the states die a year by trying to use right-handed machines and things.

Lefty: “OH GOD THESE SCISSORS ARE OUT OF CONTROL!!! AHHHH!!!”

Also, the everyday stress of moving through a right-handed world leads to quicker deterioration of the body.

Im right handed, left footed. Beat that, actually I like it, it feels “right”

There is a disproportionate amount of left handed American presidents though…

So we make better presidents? :D

A lot of Europeans are lefties, especially in Scandinavia. I guess the most famous American lefty I can think of is Eugene Debs. He’s not that famous though.

Obama is a lefty.

^, ^^lefty and leftist. A logical combination. I guess my right-handedness is out of place.

Ahem…if you’re having problems writing left-handed (e.g. smudging, etc.), then you’re writing wrong!!!

This is the right way! [Handedness Research Institute | Teaching Left-Handers to Write](Handedness Research Institute | Teaching Left-Handers to Write)

In my opinion, society should do something to make ambidextrous children! Everybody could benefit from writing with their left and right hands.

Now, the scissors/mitts/etc. thing would be solved if companies would just shell out both left- and right-handed products, provided there’s some government-or-whatever initiative to advocate ambidexterity! Then, there’d only be preferences!

Wow this is really flawed.

First, you can’t force somebody to be ambidextrous. That doesn’t make any sense. They actually used to force some lefties to write righty. The results are awful. These people had the worst hand writing ever.

Secondly, it isn’t just scissors. Everything everywhere usually favors one hand or the other. Machines, computers, COD controls, etc. It simply is not possible to equalize everything.

You misunderstood my argument. I meant an initiative to advocate ambidexterity…nowhere did I mention it had to be forced (Okay, “the society ‘should’”, I meant something else…but). And yes, I realize it’s not just scissors! That’s why I put “scissors/mitts/etc.”!..

I agree with you on the lefty being forced to be a righty however.

I wouldn’t know what being a lefty is like, but I wish I did! I wanna be different…well, more different than I already am.

I’m a righty but i wish to be a lefty. I’ve actually been so into this whole lefty thing that sometimes i practice writing with my left hand. (ironically, all my math teachers are lefties…hmm)

Liverpool - you are the guy who used to listen to Streetlight Manifesto! I’m listening to a bootleg copy of Point/Counterpoint right now :)
