For students that get deferred, is there still a chance for getting in? What is the acceptance rate for student that got deferred at Louisville? My application got deferred pending my ACT scores so when I send in my scores, can I send in other things too like a recommendation letter to boost my chances?

By definition there is a chance for a deferred student to be admitted. If there weren’t, the college would deny the applicant instead.

Unless the college says that they don’t accept supplemental LORs, then you can send one in.

Hi - my son was deferred from ED to his top choice school then ultimately accepted. In the months between the deferral and his acceptance, he received an honor that he sent on to his admissions counselor, he had his golf coach write an additional LOR that was sent to the adcom and to the golf coach, and then maybe 2-3 weeks before decisions were due to come out, emailed them both letting them know that even though he had been deferred, the school remained his top choice, etc. I have no idea what if any of this did to help. I thought he did it in a nice way - he stayed on top of them but not excessively so.

So you definitely can still get in after being deferred at least at some places. As the very wise entomom says, check to be sure there’s nothing that says you shouldn’t send in supplemental information.

Good luck to you!
