Being from another country...how much does that help?

<p>I live in NJ, but I was born in Moldova and moved here when I was little. How big of a factor do you think that is in getting into colleges--will they like the "diversity" or will it not really even matter?</p>

<p>If you are a US citizen or Green Card holder, then it probably won't matter. You might get a small boost if they value "diversity".</p>

<p>However, if you are considered a foreigner, then you would be placed at a significant disadvantage as you would be competing with the International applicants pool (sometimes a lot stronger, with olympiads, stellar ECs and what not).</p>
