Being gay myself moving in with a gay roommate - good idea?

I live in some of the most expensive zip codes in the nation and in order to move out from my neighborhood to a better town that is more expensive, my only option is to split cost with roommate in 2 bed apartments. Does it ring what place I live? Silicon Valley

I met him and he is cool. He has dog which is no problem for me because he lives in dog friendly apartment with wooden floor.

But after he answered door, tour me and talked to me the whole time with nothing on but shorts. I realize it is his home but I am confused and wondering if he was showing off. It was little warm in apartment but not too hot. I told him I am gay too before scheduling meeting but I am only interested in having roommate and hopefully making a great friend. But I don’t know if I making a right decision. Maybe he was just very casual but lacked courtesy manners (at least put on t-shirt).? I dunno.

If you are guy (regardless whether your gay or straight) what would you do? I did not meet guy before. I only just met him on Craiglist and he owns the place.

Is he older? I would google his phone number because there are skeevy guys of both sexual preferences who advertise for roommates on C.L. They are really looking for a short term younger partner. A google will show how often they’ve advertised before. The fact that he owns the place means he can put you out on the street if you fail to meet his expectations. I think if you have a creepy feeling you should follow it and find different lodgings.

Otherwise I think a gay roommate is a great idea. Good luck.

Shouldn’t be bad as long as he randomly hits on you when you don’t want relationship
