Does being an independent high school student affect the chances of college admissions?
I have a room to rent and I am currently working for that in a part time manner.
I have no idea how this process goes.
Do you mean will colleges give you a boost? Not really. Many kids are at boarding schools or what not. The fact that you work is meaningful. But your GPA/Transcript/test scores will be the most significant factor
The only way you are independent is if you are 24, have a dependent (married or a child) that you support, have been a ward of the court, or in the military. Do any of those apply to you?
Or legally emancipated from parent/guardians. But this is a legal status, not just the situation you find yourself in.
