How bad is it to be kicked out? I did not complete a project required for my school's History Honor Society because of Extremely High Stress Levels and am very likely to be kicked out. Will this be enough to rescind an admission?

No way.....

Is there any way to get an extension and get the project done this weekend? It seems like you are adding stress to your life!

The project was due in January, so I honestly don't know if the adviser would even consider it. Furthermore, it's a research project, which will (unfortunately) take longer than a weekend.

OMG, this is happening to me too!!! I didn't finish some service projects and now they wanna kick me out of NHS :( Do u think a university would take away my admission for that?

I got kicked out of NHS senior year, and Rutgers didn't rescind my admission. That club was so retarded.

I doubt this would affect any admission decision.

panic - Lol, I agree about NHS. I'm not going to get my stupid graduation stole after having done ALMOST all of the work for it for two years. Too bad the last project is on the same weekend as college open houses. -_-

Skramata, I doubt they would much care or even know about this happening to you, don't worry.

Seriously. I had to wake up so early for their worthless meetings before school even started and complete hours of "approved" community service ... and because I missed one thing, they dump me before graduation. Of course, my parents really wanted that NHS cord, so they yelled at me.

Fan. Fcking. Tastic.

Exactly. If they're going to double-book my Key Club dates so I can't do their events, what am I supposed to do about it? Graaaahhh...15 hours of community service has never been so needlessly complicated.

I feel ya. My parents forced me to join the worthless thing in the first place.

I keep thinking that it must be good at some schools, somewhere...

Wow, i thought it was only MY NHS advisors that were crazy about stupid rules and stuff. Good to know it's not only here :)

ehahahahaha.. i better start going to those NJHS meetings..
:D i now realize how lucky i am to have lazy advisors.

glad I haven't joined NHS

Some of the best most honorable and independent people I know were kicked out of NHS!

OP,
That's no reason for an admission to be rescinded. If you'd gotten kicked out for plagiarism or assault, the plagiarism/assault would have been reason for you to be rescinded.

Woah, I leave for a bit, and there's a hill of replies!

Thank you, all of you, for your comments. This has seriously calmed my nerves greatly (darn teachers for making those foreboding threats of "We send letters out to colleges if you are kicked out!"). Thank you very, very much! :) [breathes a sigh of relief]

I'm actually in the same situation.

I forgot to turn in my CSF application for this semester, and I never completed Interact (chose to join other clubs instead), even though both were on my application.

Is that serious enough for me to contact them and notify them?
