<p>It's a combination of both, when settlers came the need for land led to wars (also lots of diseases wiped out millions of Native Americans.) Then we stuck the few survivors on horrible land and pretty much oppressed them until F.D.R. took over as prez and helped them out a little (mid 1930's.) But it's still pretty bad and a lot of white people near the reservations are still racist (at least according to my old hist. prof. who lived there for a couple years.)</p>

<p>They will definitely see that you are biologically Asian, but if you don't proclaim your Asian, then perhaps affirmative action wouldn't work for you.

We are of Taino Indian, African, and Spanish ancestry!!! We have a very rich culture. And we love our Black folk. You fall under that umbrella because you were raised by a black parent.</p>
