Being recruited by Stanford?

I'm currently being recruited Stanford in Wrestling. I am a California State Champion at my weight and also a National Champion. I am one of the top wrestlers in the nation at my weight division. I currently have a 3.5 unweighted and 3.7 weighted. I've taken a couple AP courses and passed the AP Exams. I'm apart of many clubs and is currently the Commissioner of Athletics for my school. SAT scores aren't so hot (1610) but my ACT score is a lot better (26). I am still planning on taking the ACT's again because I find it a lot easier than the SAT's. I am currently an incoming senior. What are my chances since I am an athlete currently being looked at by Stanford Wrestling, of getting into the school? What can I do to raise my chances? Also planning on majoring in Business or Entrepreneurship. If not some sort of science.

PS, my current schedule is:
1)APN (Alternative Program at North)
2)APN (Alternative Program at North) - You have to be recommended by your teachers in order to be in this class. It is basically English 4 then Government and Econ. All while still helping out the neighboring elementary school.
3)Anatomy Honors
4)Leadership
5)AP Calculus AB
6)Wrestling

Is this a good enough schedule for my Senior year? Or does it look like I'm slacking? I could take AP Statistics and AP Biology instead of Anatomy and Calculus, but would have to get rid of APN, which is a class that volunteers in the community as well.

Your thoughts would be most appreciated! Oh and I have 3 cousins who all went to Stanford, 1 still currently there.

If you are being recruited, you should be talking to the coaches at Stanford to ensure you aim for certain ACT scores and take the appropriate classes.

^ I agree. Talk to the coaches…and your cousins. The schedule doesn’t look slack to me, but what do I know?

Good luck!

P.S. Since you’re new to this site: If you do get in with your current scores, don’t post on here that you did or you’ll get flamed by kids who think they’re somehow more deserving… ;)

^ haha, so true.

To the OP, you should know that in general Stanford is unwilling to compromise on academics for recruited athletes in most sports - when it does, its leniency is mostly in the big-time sports like football and basketball, and even then not very much; wrestling isn’t one of those sports. That’s why more than 90% of the student body has above a 3.8 GPA.

That said, it may be possible to be recruited if you get your SAT up. As said, the first thing to do is to talk to the coaches; once you submit your application, the recruitment process is stalled unless/until the admissions office admits you, after which the recruitment process will continue.
