Being Reminded to Apply after You Have Been Admitted

My son noticed that every college that admitted him in an early action round or rolling admission round sent him at least one reminder to apply before a later date AFTER the college had already admitted him. Colleges don't seem to match their own emails to their lists of students already admitted. He wonders if he applies again, and is admitted again, will he get twice the amount of merit scholarships?

What's your experience? Are you finding that colleges still remind you to apply after you have already been admitted?

I was accepted ED and EC by two schools. At the end of December, all three schools sent email messages to me reminding me to submit my application by January 1. Even more suprising, I withdrew my RD applications and continue to receive message thanking me for my interest, reminding me of decision dates, and instructing me on how to supplement my application.

^I got an acceptance from Tulane after I withdrew my EA app. .__.

But that’s cleared up now since I marked that I wasn’t attending on their website.

No worries. The marketing department at most schools, from what I understand, has very little contact with admissions. I’ve gotten emails from UMiami, for example, after I applied encouraging me to send them an app. If you look closely at the last paragraph, some say “if you have already applied, thanks!”

At least it’s better if trees are spared by the duplicate recruiting letters being sent as emails.
