Being rescinded?!

I was elated to receive an early write from Swarthmore, and I was all set on going, but this semester I have been doing rather poorly in AP Calculus. Math has never been my strong suit, but I've always managed to get A's or at the very least, a B+...But right now, I have a C, and I'm afraid I won't be able to pull it up to a B by the end of the semester. Would Swarthmore rescind me if I end up with one C and 5 A's? My regional rep has yet to get back to me, and the admissions office did not answer my question.

I doubt very much they would rescind your acceptance. Have they contacted you? If not, I’m not sure I’d keep calling and e-mailing the admissions office waving a big red flag!

I don’t think you need to worry, but CALL the admissions office if you need to for peace of mind (anonymously if you don’t want to attract undue attention).

I have always only ever heard that only Ds and Fs are reason to rescind. Relax, but I agree do call admissions for peace of mind. :)

Instead of spending time worrying about it, you should spend time getting your grade up to an A or B. If this means extra studying, consider it practice for the years ahead.

“I have a friend” who got a C in AP Physics his last semester in HS. He had been accepted to Swat ED and the adcom never batted an eye. Maybe it helped that science wasn’t his stated area of interest. Anyway, no worries. Do your best. One C (I’d try hard to keep it to one) won’t spoil anything. Enjoy your last few weeks of HS!!

"Would Swarthmore rescind me if I end up with one C and 5 A’s? "

Don’t we all hate people like this? yeah, you’ll get rescinded, have to go to a community college and spend the rest of your life managing a Jack in the Box. omg, omg, omg…i got a “c”. it’s like a hot chick saying “my world is over, i have a zit…on my shoulder.”
