Anyone ever had this problem in highschool where your family member and friends say you're to skinny?

I was born in a asian family and my family member would keep reminding me how skinny I was. Then at school, when me and my friends have a argument, they would bring out the fact that I'm skinny.

I'm just standing there thinking, really, that's all you got. I weight 100 pounds and I'm a guy. My friends would keep bring up the idea how I should eat and start getting muscle to get the lady while I'm just standing there thinking how stupid that idea was.

Anyway post some of your funny story how your friends or family member would talk about you being skinny.

Yeah, Asian families can be like that - you’re either too skinny, or, said in an admiring tone like its a big accomplishment: " you got fat!" B-)

I like being Asian, because you can eat tons of junk food and not get fat :)

Well, you do sound like you’re incredibly skinny for your situation!

I’m around 100-109 and I’m a girl with 5’3 height so I’m very healthy (weight-wise anyway) according to my BMI. I guess I appear skinnier than I am though because my family constantly tells me I weigh too little and need to eat more. I eat all the time and a galore of junk food too. It’s even gotten to the point where my dad accused me of being anorexic. ???

When I tell people what I weigh (usually after they accuse me of being too skinny), they seem shocked as they thought I weighed 80-95 pounds…??? Can someone please explain why apparently I promote an aura of being underweight when I am not?

I am of average weight! I think my family has just been brainwashed by the growing epidemic of obesity in the USA!

By the way, I’m white. xD

Lol I don’t see why people want to gain weight because if they do, they’ll miss out on a lot of food. I like being skinny because I don’t have to worry about my weight yet. If I wanted to gain weight, guess what it’s easier than losing weight.

hey atleast ur not fat!

^^ Please be careful when saying things like that. Some people will feel extremely hurt by it.

Trying my best not to type something stupid that will cause misunderstanding. Sorry if any of these do hurt you, it’s just for fun so don’t take it too serious.

I’m 5’7", Asian and weigh 124 lbs. Come at me brah, you don’t wanna mess with a heavyweight like me

5’8" Asian and 110 lbs. XD
Anyway, I remember when I was 12 I was overseas for a family reunion. My grandpa called me a disappointment seeing my skinnyness.

It’s really annoying how almost a decade later, I’m still being teased by family friends. I like to retort to them that I need a buffet to maintain my weight.

I’m 6’ and around 130 lbs. I used to take offense for being called extremely skinny by my peers, but seeing as I can beat them all in arm wrestling, I feel pretty fine now.

Lol @Smrtical, my friends would talk a lot about me being skinny, but in the end, they can’t even talk to girl, even if it’s just to have a normal conversation or helping them with a question.

I wish I could lose weight. I’m too curvy and my body is disproportional.
I gained about six pounds this year without even growing.

Just enjoy your fast metabolism for now. If I had this advantage, I would enjoy midnight snacks or eat in bed & not have to worry about exercise :(

@lovelyshores my secret to losing weight is finding something interesting to do. For example, I play game a lot so instead of eating, I just fill my head with games to forget about food. Although you can still eat, just eat a little, like a snack then back to what you’re doing. It might not be as easy but once you’re used to it, it’s way easier because it will prevent you from eating too much.

But I like food… Food is my therapy lol.
I’m not huge or anything, just thick on the thighs and wide hips… But my waist isn’t as tiny as it use to be… my hip bones don’t stick out anymore either.
I use to be skinny now I’m just really curvy and I’m scared to go to the doctors, sometimes it’s hard to hear their comments about my weight and how I should handle what I eat. One was kind of mean once and told me I probably wouldn’t want to gain anymore weight because I’m too short in a rude tone.

Truth is high school stresses me out so much I either over eat or I don’t eat

People say that I’m too skinny a lot, which helps when I want to eat something unhealthy in large portions because “I need some fat”. However, I do try to keep myself at least in shape by working out every now and then (I’m also on the tennis team so yeah). Now, though, it’s time to bulk up and tone them muscles (foh the pool ), so I’m starting to go to the gym more as senior year approaches.

I’ve literally been the same weight for the last 5 or so years at 125 lbs, and because I’m 6 feet tall, I’m considered underweight. ._.

@lovelyshores I really hate highschool due to that reason only. Other than that, highschool is a place where we can still be kids and worry about nothing. Do something that is very fun once in a while to reduce stress. I only like highschool because I don’t have to do housework and visit family member.

Other than that, there are times when people want to gain weight but never can. There are times when people want to lose weight but just barely. So really, life starts to be cruel in a way where people judge you although there are people who don’t care.

Sorry if you misunderstood what I’m trying to say. This is one of the reason why I hate technology.

What is consider average weight anyway?

@XxSkizzyxX
Oh don’t worry about me getting offended I wasn’t haha.
And yes I agree, it’s nice not having any housework to do or family members to visit!
