I take it no one got a “no” email today?

It’s been very quiet in DD’s email account. Hoping we all get something positive tomorrow!!

@momcatof4 Yes. I think emails come to a half after that 2/1 date that is usually the last day to apply to schools. Someone will have to scrape me off of the floor if we get positive news but it was worth a try!

Lordy. The waiting is really hard. We haven’t heard anything. If the emails are out and my daughter just didn’t get one, can someone private message me? I’m pretty sure my daughter would just rather KNOW, ya know?

Nothing yet on my end either. Hoping it all comes out today- I can’t wait much longer!

Last year the “no” decisions were sent on a Wed. First person to post did so at 5:45. These types of emails seem to always come later in the day. Maybe we will hear today. I do have an email from the merit director saying it’s this week. I’m sure it’s by Friday.

Semi-finalist for Belk and finalist of Johnson at W&L 
 which one is harder?

My daughter is a finalist for Johnson 
 waiting for the decision coming out for Belk

Not sure about Johnson but Belk was 60 out of 1200 applicants last year

@homerdog Did merit office email you as a response to your question
or did they email you independently? My daughter hasn’t heard anything

My S emailed them about an update to his app and they told him he would hear his Belk status “next week”. That was last Thursday.

if you do get the semifinalist
what does that mean for admission? Is it only if you make it to the final round that you can realistically think that you are admitted?

I don’t think anyone knows for sure but I’m pretty sure if you’re in top four percent of the Belk nominees then you would be accepted. So semifinalists in good shape for admission even if they don’t get to finalist.
