Does anyone know any numbers for the Belk Scholarship?

Like how many school nominations, how many people selected as semi-finalists, etc.

Check the Davidson Web site; in the admissions section there is a whole section on Belks that may answer some of your questions.

no idea-- i'm up for it too :)

All you are really told is that there will be 30 finalists and 10 winners...I've looked all over their website for other numbers but haven't found any besides pretty old ones (like when they first started the Belk program).

Notification of Belk Finalists is going to be Feb. 16th. They will be choosing 60 finalists from about 500 nominated candidates.

My hope for receiving a Belk Scholarship is gradually declining... :(

haha yea me too :(

Where is it stated that Belk scholarship finalist notification is February 16th? Davidson site has no such timetable.

Last week I got an email from Sally Richmond, the Belk Scholarship Coordinator, stating they would be sending out letters and emails on February 16th.

Did anyone hear from the Belk people yet?

not yet. We're in California (as if that makes any difference in cyberspace)

Ok. I'm waiting to hear too. I was wondering if my not hearing meant that I was not a semifinalist. Thanks for the info.

Still no email...this is frustrating. I don't want to wait until Friday to get the letter...

well it's friday... no letter...

just got my letter today, they sent it out yesterday, but it was a rejection.

Same here too. I'm not really surprised--I was accepted early decision so I am going no matter what. I guess they figure that means I don't need any money to make sure I come.

Where are you guys from DisplacedNewYorker and kj52?

I'm from Greensboro, NC. Its about an hour north of Davidson.

So I'm from Columbia, SC (about two hours south of Davidson) and I haven't heard anything yet. I was really thinking today would be the day.

thitical crinkin - i'm from spartanburg and also applied to davidson (just wanted to let you know; i got excited when i saw another person from SC on here)

Awesome, South Carolina is surprisingly (and sadly) underrepresented at Davidson.
