Belmont University (in Nashville)

i'm really interested in their music business program here. it seems to be the best i've seen, and i've been looking for a loooong time. however, i'm uneasy about the school and looking to be turned around on my uneasiness. my problems:

-it has relatively low standards (sat wise) in correlation to mine. i would feel like i'd be settling into some place where i know i can go some place much better.

-it is really baptist school, and i am not religious. i've heard that it doesn't really matter, and that you'd never know unless someone told you, though.

i live in GA so i plan on visiting the campus soon....i really hope it wows me.
anyone go here or know anything about the college life?

I don't know much of anything about Belmont other than the fact that it and Vanderbilt are near-next-door neighbors. From what I know from Belmont students, it doesn't feel like a religious college. Certainly, it isn't a BJU, but you will still find instances here and there where "Christian sensibilities" limit what is and is not allowed on-campus. The stats may be a bit low for Southern regional schools, but if the college has a program you absolutely love and you like the college, that really shouldn't matter.

thanks feenotype.

i've been reading their school newspapers to try and get an idea of what it's like, and it's helped a little bit.
