I noticed no one made a Beloit thread yet. I applied EA and I’m just wondering about the school. What’s it like and when should I visit?

Beloit is a fantastic school. I am currently a first year student there and am very happy with my experience so far. Do you have any specific questions about the school? I would be happy to tell you anything you would like to know about it.

As for visiting, do you have a least a 27 ACT (like a 1800 SAT or something) and a 3.5 GPA or top 10% of your class? If so you should apply online to go to the presidential scholarship weekend. It is an overnight on a Friday in January and February.

I applied EA too :)

and to SmallColleges, is that 3.5 GPA weighted or unweighted?

are the athletic facilities easy to access? and for how long during winter is their snow on the ground at Beloit?

thanks for the presidential scholarship weekend tip.

where should i go to learn more about Beloit?

skibum - To learn more about Beloit -besides the website - check this out - https://campus.beloit.edu/belmag/ Lots of interesting articles that give a feel for what is happening at Beloit.

I think the presidential scholarship weekend requires an on line sign up and the common app submitted by the middle of January.

D is a freshman and couldn’t be happier with her decision and we are great fans, to say the least.

Even the southern part of Wisconsin tends to have more snow than say Illinois. During the recent snow Chicago just had a dusting and Beloit ended up with about 13 inches of snow. The campus is compact and so the athletic facilities are easy to access from anywhere.

It is also one of the loveliest campuses I have ever seen.

3.5 GPA unweighted. If you meet the requirements make sure you fill out the app on Beloit’s Website for the presidential scholarship. If you have questions email a adcom.

I would visit on a tues, wed or thurs night if you do not go to the scholarship weekend. Beloit visits are generally a lot of fun and really well done.

I applied to Beloit early action, just waiting on the notification which should be by Jan. 1! I’m nervous, Beloit is one of my top choices (fairly good match as I predicted) however if I don’t get in and turn out to be WRONG, I’m anticipating an even longer string of disappointments to come from all of the other colleges I’ve applied to. Alot is weighing on this decision… :o. Good luck to everyone who applied!

Silverscreen, on the Beloit website it says that notification is January 15th… I’m really hoping you’re right though, I hate waiting!

I just got my Beloit acceptance letter :), which was, to my surprise, personalized.
I’m not sure if I’ll go to Beloit (will depend on fin. aid and other acceptances), but because I loved my visit, I’m glad to know that I have a spot in the class of 2014…a few weeks early!
Good luck to everyone else!

Flowering Spade:

When did you apply? We applied right at the EA deadline.

My son got his acceptance letter today as well. I think his application was in by Nov 1. I love all of the personal questions about room mate preferences!

Coolay: December 1st, probably around the same time as your daughter, if not later

i just got my acceptance letter as well i’m pretty sure i will be attending, assuming the FA package isn’t horrible

Is there any way to check if you got accepted online, I’m on vacation now, really want to know

sorry skibum91, but i’m pretty sure they only send their notifications through snail mail… maybe you could send an admissions officer an email or something? if you won’t be back for more than a few days

Just got our acceptance today. Happy sounds in the house.

Got my acceptance letter today, after returning from vacation. It was personalized, mentioning the AP classes I’m taking this year.
