Beloit??

I'm sorry for doing what everyone does but I really am nervous

GPA 3.7 UW
SAT NOT YET....
APs-9 including next year
I took two AP exams so far and got 4s
EC-Beta Club 10th
Key Club, Junior cabinet 11th
Made the honor roll all throughout hs
50 hours of volunteering
Top quarter out of 700 students
will Beloit accept me??
How much emphasis do they place on ECs??
Is it need blind??
and if anyone went/goes there, how is the financial aid for need-based students??

Thanks in advance
It seems like such a good school for me. It would be a dream come true if I get admitted there w/ excellent financial aid

I’d say you’re a likely admit. However Beloit is sensitive about the
fin aid. You’ll find that an issue at most LACs. Do you have an
approx EFC?

yes around 2300 at the most?? 2 kids including me are going to college at the same time. oy. Poor parents…

With that low an eFC you’ll have to be in the upper 25% of
apps to get money at a lot of LACs. A lot will depend on
your sats. If you get over 1900 you’ll have some choices
and if you’re over 2000 you’ll probably do ok. You’ll have to
develop a careful list though.

Oh great thank you

Beloit promises to meet 100% EFC with minimal loans (they will try and give as few as possible) if ADMITTED. However, they are need aware and if you are not a in the top quarter of applicants and they cannot give you enough aid, they may not admit you.

I would recommend at least a 31+ ACT or 2000+ SAT score

THank you you have been really helpful

^^ Does Beloit really promise to meet full need? CB lists it as meeting 99% of need on average.

beloit changed its finaid policy this year and went need aware.
Their finaid numbers on CB may not change but some lower income
apps may not be accepted or waitlisted. For the op here with a
low efc that may be an issue.

Yes, I know Beloit is need-aware. However, my belief is that it does NOT promise to meet full need, either.

from reading their web site, they make no claims about meeting full
need.

^ Yes, I was addressing SmallCollegesFTW who implied otherwise.
