Beneficial to take 9 AP Classes in senior year?

I just received my course selection sheet today for senior year of high school. I know many people try to have an easy senior year to cool of a bit before college but I think I might try something different.

Courses I am thinking about taking
Chemistry AP, Biology AP, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, English 4 AP, Macro Economics AP, and Government AP.

My thinking is that I can succeed with this schedule I can do exceptionally well in college. My rank is pretty much locked at top 6% so I don't think my college chances will be effected.

Is my thinking flawed? Is it beneficial to have a senior schedule consisting of only core classes?

9 APs!! Are you crazy? My school makes you have a conference with the principal if you wish to take any more than three! Just think about the homework load. AP course homework is supposed to take about 2 hours per class, 9 x 2 = 18 hours! Obviously some courses will require less than 2 hours a night, but you get my point. I don’t see how it’s even possible if you don’t have block scheduling.

Oh, and I didn’t think you could take AB and BC at the same time. I thought it was AB then BC.

don’t stress yourself out, seriously…

If you are taking BC, why are you taking AB? Also, aren’t ap gov and ap Econ one semester classes?

Calculus BC covers AB, a waste of time. Also, MacroEcon and US gov(im assuming) are both esmester classes.

you only listed 7, also taking calc ab and bc at the same time is stupid and probably not allowed, since the exams are on the same date

I had a schedule of all core classes, with 7 AP courses last year. It was difficult but definitely manageable. I had an overall average of around 95/100 so it is possible to do well as well. Although I wouldn’t do that for my senior year- you need to finish your apps!

I heard people that take 9 APs senior year are guaranteed admission to Yale

^ Please tell me you’re trolling.

This is true, someone told me it was.

omg you need 9 ap classes to get into yale! -■■■■■!!!

Ehh I think it was that you need 10 APs to be guaranteed admission to Yale. I’m pretty sure it says that on their website.

Haha sorry I guys I guess I should have explained a bit more. My school has an accelerated block schedule where ou basically take 4 classes per semester. For example calc AB would be the first 18 weeks and calc b is considered a different class which will take the net 18 weeks. It is also required in my school to take calc AB before BC. Also on my course sheet or said macro economics and gov are 2 different classes although they are both half a semester long so I guess they can be counted as one full class.

Sorry, you won’t have auto admit into Yale. /endtroll

1) AP Chemistry
2) AP Biology
3) AP Calc BC (AB is included in BC)
4) AP English Lit
5) AP Macro
6) AP Gov

You’re actually taking 6 AP, not 9. At least, that’s all you’ve listed.

^yeah I realized that. Maybe this is a sign I won’t do well in cal though. The reason I said 9 on the first place because it’s unusual to have a year around course like Chem
And biology at my school do I guess I counted them twice and counted cal separately

**** man…

funniest. thread. ever.

don’t you just love it when trolls gather in one place? xP

Oh wow!!! In our county all the classes are year long. What county/state do you go to school in!!!

Needs more exclamation points.

i wouldnt suggest it. A) your gonna shoot yourself with all the work B) Once senioritis kicks in theres a good chance you will do less homework.
