Beneficial to the Typical CC'er

what are some match schools (in new england) for the typical overachiever Cc'er?

here is a brief look at my stats:

sat: 2200 (will retake).
gpa: 4.0
rank: 1st
11 AP's
AMC, UNSCO
300+ volunteer
many leadership positions
major: pre-medicine (eventually a neurosurgeon)

so far, the only match school i have is Johns Hopkins (not in the new england).

plz help me out here. Private Schools only

size, location (urban, rural, etc.), and cost are not factors. however, no LAC's please.

cornell,tufts

but its really hard to tell you when you don’t say what you want in a college

aren’t cornell and tufts reaches?

also, i’m not asking that you do any research for me, all i ask is that you tell me the schools you know from off the top of your heads. thanx

@jakem333: well, i don’t really have any preference as far as size, location, and other characteristics go. I can adapt to any college i attend.

Carnegie Mellon possibly

^ that’s Pennsylvana right?..i don’t want to stay instate. (also, PA is midatlantic, not new england)

Yes its in Pennsylvania and according to wikipedia:

As defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, the Northeast region of the United States covers nine states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

^ yeah, sorry about that, superwizard. I meant to put New England, not northeast.

Ps: i have edited my threads to say new england. Again, I apologize.

Pre-med isn’t a major.

LOL you’llsee its not a big deal!

Boston U is a possibility…

tuft’s not a reach

If you’re typical, the rest of us are completed screwed…

since you’re not giving us anything to work with, heres a few along the level of selectivity for matches/safe matches: brandeis, rochester, boston college, nyu

thanx everybody. anyone else have match schools in new england for me?

also…@kyledavid80:: i am aware that pre-med techinically isn’t a major, however, i always call it my major, for the sake of simplicity.

Tufts and Cornell are indeed reaches, but reasonable ones – especially given your class rank. Good luck!

Why not? Cornell and Tufts sure are possible. BC could be a match. Bowdoin, Amherst and Williams would be solid reaches. Even H and MIT, if you wish. Brandeis could be a safe match. If you’re really into LAC’s, also check out Middlebury, Bates, Colby, Colgate and Hamilton.

i need more schools, please.

match schools in new england…going once, going twice, sold…

i am not bumping this…or am I?

I would call BU, Brandeis, Tufts, U Hartford, Boston College all match to safe match. Worchester Polytech, Northeastern, Clark-safety. How about Wesleyan- very competive and reach-high match, but you are qualified.

thank you, one mom.

so far, here’s the list of matches i have:

johns hopkins
Brandeis
Tufts
Boston Collge
U Hartford
BU

I only need two more matches, in addition to Johns Hopkins. I look into these schools and see what i like best. Thanx everyone.
