MBA has a different admission criteria from BSBA.

The MBA program is for those who have work experience as the curriculum is geared towards managing large organizations. You tackle the subjects in a much higher level and apply the principles who’ll learn in a corporate set-up. The discussions in MBA is substantially on a higher level and everyone in class is expected to contribute or participate. If you don’t have work experience, how are you gonna be able to contribute in the classroom? When you study cases, because MBA are usually case studies, you debate on how subject matter. If you don’t have experience, your classmates who have will eat you alive in the discussions.

On the BSBA program, you’ll learn the basic principles of the different business-related subjects such as accounting, finance, economics, marketing and management. And, the whole approach is academics with little integration of practical. It’s usually on the BBA program where you’ll learn how to structure the organizations. Higher subjects are probably MBA like, but the approach is still generic and broad. If you’ll do well in undergrad, you’ll probably know more principles as those as MBA students. But then again, your knowldge on it is probably just based on theories.

Why not? Many BBA grads go on to MBA after acquiring work experience. Most BBA grads decide on that based on their current job, usually after 3-5 years from working. Their current job is what usually pushes them to go on a further study of the field so that it will give them a much better springboard for a much higher future position taking a much higher roles and responsibilities in large organizations.

22% of the entering class of Haas MBA have BBA undergraduates. That’s quite substantial given there are so many undergrad fields out there.
