Does state resident have benefit on admission over non-state resident? For example, if I live in Indiana and wants to go to notre dame, do I have more chances than those who are not state residents? (assuming that they have same stats)
Generally for private schools, no. If you were speaking about IU, PU or IUPUI, then YES. Otherwise, not really.
Some private schools may have set asides for nearby under-resourced areas (e.g Penn and metro Philadelphia) and may highly desire strong applicants from those circumstances… but generally there is no advantage in private school scenarios.
