I'm an incoming freshman enrolled in the Honors Program. I'm wondering if their is any benefit to being enrolled in the honors program. Obviously I can take honors courses; what is the benefit of those? I don't want to take a foreign language and in order to stay in the Honors Program I have to take 2 semesters of one. I chose not to do honors housing. Is there any benefit for job searching/grad school if I graduate with the honors program (I'm a finance major fyi)? thanks

Why didn’t you take the honors housing? Most people really want that.

I’m in the honors programm in newark and from what I got from my interview, honors do have a couple of advantages, some of which are:
- preferential spots in classes
- there is some sort of honors newsletter every week / month where they will match honors students with great internships (homeland etc.)/research positions
-SCHOLARSHIPS - max of 15-20(correct me?) In honors classes…
-honors housing
-graduation with honors destinction (hellllo

I have some friends in the SAS honors program (which you’re probably in if you’re a finance major) and they seem to like it fine. You get special housing, which is good, and I think there are some scholarship opportunities. Basically, the pro’s outweigh the con’s.
