I was recentley accepted into Fordham University's College of Business Administration and Bentley College's Honors Program. I also received a 1/2 tuition scholarship at Bentley. I received no money at Fordham... =(

Although I am not certain about what I want to major in, I think it will probably be accounting or finance.

I would be nearly sure that I would go to Bentley except for the fact that they seem EXTREMELY unknown to many people in my area (NY suburb).

I know that Fordham is obviously more well known in NY and I THINK that I'd like to work in New York when I'm older. My thinking is that since Fordham is more well known, it will be easier for me to find a high paying job.

I'm a bit confused though because Bentley was ranked #11 by Princeton Review for "Best Career/Job Placement Services"

To be honest, I don't know if I really want to work in NY years from now, but I don't know what it would be like in Boston (Bentley is 15 mins away).

Bentley's reputation is growing really fast especially in the New York area. It is very high praised in the New England region and that is spreading south as more and more graduates are going to NY. Plus the career services here are really helpful in finding you an intership and a job for after you graduate.

If you visit Bentley, you'd realize that the school is very business focused, has top flight facilities and is located in a good location on the west side of Boston. However, the advantage with Fordham is that your ability to interview for a career in New York will be easier based upon the location in Harlem that is where the business school is located, and the school stresses not just business, but ethics and a liberal arts education as well.

My advice is that if you are 100% sure you are going to end up working in NY, then I'd go to Fordham, but otherwise I'd take advantage of that scholarship to go to Bentley and consider taking a job in their "Massachusetts Silicon Valley area" just west of Bentley's campus or in some other part of the country.

P.S. My son applied to both Bentley and Fordham's business schools--and was accepted at Bentley and waitlisted at Fordham. In the end, he chose Indiana University at Bloomington--which is where he is now. Part of the reason was Bentley's fairly high cost and part was that the IU business program was/is very highly ranked. (We visited both Bentley and Fordham--and so know at least a little about each).
(His scores on the SAT are: 1350/1950--CR: 650, Math: 700, W: 600).

Take the scholarship at Bentley and NEVER LOOK BACK. Bentley is a very fine school AS LONG AS you are sure that you want a business related major.
