Bentley vs UMass Amherst

Hey guys,

So I’m having a really tough time deciding between Amherst and Bentley. If I go to Amherst I’m going to try and transfer into Isenberg(the business school) for Finance, currently enrolled for Economics. At Bentley I’m already admitted for finance.

My issue is that I’m not 100% sure I want to major in business. I’m fairly certain that I want a job in finance, but not completely 100%

Pros to Bentley is that it’s very close to Boston and also to where I live, unlike Amherst which is pretty far away. Also the career services, smaller classes, and more personal faculty are pros.

Cons are that the social life at Amherst is probably better, and that if I don’t want to stay in business I’d have to transfer.

Money is no issue for ether school, I got great financial aid both ways.

This decision is tough. Any advice for me? Thanks

What is the other major you are considering?

Nothing specific. Likely a science major if I weren’t to do business, or maybe law

Law is not a major, you can major in anything and go to law school. Bentley has the liberal studies program if you want to do more humanities.

You will be out of luck if you want to be a bio major or physics major at Bentley. I feel like most kids know by now if science is truly something they want.

The colleges are different enough in size and location for that to be a huge factor. Do u prefer large and rural with access to a cute college town or smaller and suburban with excellent access to a major city and all that entails?
