@eshhoof ive seen some people not receiving it. Thats weird. Did you receive it? And can you post your stats?
So the update, is not actually an update. Itās just telling you how you just need to wait until March 31st to see what is their decision on your application. This is definitely getting everyone anxious.
@yourbasicgirl What do you mean by saying that last year by āJanuaryā you were rejected? Does that mean that with your update on your application, you were already "rejected? Can you explain a little bit more?
@Karlastyle20 as per the admission team that I contacted in January: āThe January update will be a status update on how the committee has decided to proceed with your applicationā;
it means that during this update, you receive an update about whether they will continue reviewing your profile and give you the final decision by the end of March or they will no longer review your profile which means rejection. If one receives this second option during the January update, it means that one is already declined.
In your case, your good cauz your application is still under review. letās just hope we get a positive response by the end of March
does anyone receive a new email from the international admissions today?
I did @kayeena , it said itās still under review.
I did as well, it says app is still under review. Exactly the same as the very first one I received in late January.
Are there any info on international students who have already been accepted/rejected in these 2 updates?
@NepaliBoy123 Iām not really sure but contacted the vice president of international admission office, and they confirm that my app has moved to the final round. So I guess the latest update maybe about this. Apparently they made another cut, but no final decision yet. Normally they release the final decision at once for all applicants in one week, maybe, the 3rd or the last week of March.
I just wanna know if every applicant has received this latest update or not. It would be better it we could hear from the other applicants on this chat whether theyāve received the latest update or not.
Iāve received that email as well. Please, guys, tell us even if you did not receive anything. Others wanna know:(
I think they sent out the second update just so the students who got ED2 or some RD acceptances could withdraw their apps and give the road to us.
i got the email as well. Im really hoping that 1470 on the sat would be enough to get me in. its one of the only chances i got
@Smartypanties I never thought about it but it sounds right. It is a good way for them to protect their yield. Most college decisions are made between january to early March. So if a particular student does not withdraw during the course of Mars, there is a high possibility that this applicant will enrol if accepted.
@LebronJames420 your score is really high. Average score of BCās admitted students in the past years is just above the US average; while yours is probable on the top 10%. I donāt know the other components, but in term of score, your chance of admission is really high.
i hopeā¦ what about u guys? have u got any backup plan? is berea your first choice and have you been accepted anywhere else?
Well, to be honest, Berea is the only school Iām applying to. I was planning to apply to a local school but I had a to withdraw it. I just contacted them to inform them about this change of plan.
Wow! Can you believe it guys? Weāre just two weeks away to know the final decision! Do you think thereās any possibility that you can get the email of acceptance of rejection a week before? Iāve seen in previous threads that that has happened. Anyways, March 31 is getting close. I wish luck to all of you and I hope all of you can get in! and If not, CONTINUE PUSUING YOUR DREAMS! NEVER GIVE UP!
Did you guys read about BEREA shutting down the semester for the CORONA VIRUS? Will that interfere in our decisions? Like, IS BEREA not going to tell us through email if we got accepted or not, due to that? OMG. I HOPE EVERYONEāS SAFE.
@Karlastyle2020 I heard it from a current student that berea is closed this semester until further notice. All courses are taken online/cancelled. Iām not really sure but it seems like students are being moved out of the campus, so it is likely that the offices are closed. I just hope they continue the review online and make the decision ontime.
Berea is in fact being closed for classes with all students to vacate the campus by Friday/Saturday. According to the email we received, staff will still be working as scheduled so the offices should be open. There is no information on when campus will reopen for classes. Good luck on your decisions.
Many thanks for letting us know. I just read the update on the collegeās website and I saw the same info. it is a very unfortunate situation for the students, I just hope everything ends up well.
Even though the offices are open and we will still receive the letter via email, saying if we got accepted or not. My question is: IS THIS GOING to affect when we start the semester(of course, just if we got accepted, just hypothetical)? If iām not mistaken the semester starts in spring, around August, so if we got accepted, are we going to have to wait until next year, until this unfortunate pandemic that the world is suffering at this moment, eventually diminishes?
