@girlrejina
I also applied to Berea from Nepal
I, myself, graduated from Chelsea batch of 2012 but do not know any such characters with those credentials. Are you sure that you are from Chelsea and your identity is what your username suggests?

Hey what did all of you wrote in your Personal Statements?
I wrote about my love for Engineering and what I want to accomplish in the future by doing Engineering.

@alisiddiqui94

I do not think Berea offers Engineering for international students.

it does offer 3-2 Engineering Program for internationals. But it does not guarantee that the other Engineering school would provide full aid.

I believe I was right.

Their website says internationals are NOT allowed to participate though. BTW, have you heard of any internationals who did Engineering at Berea? That would be a huge prospect for internationals like us given that we get accepted.

@alisiddiqui: 3 acceptances! stop worrying then! i have like 0 so far, but i only applied to 3. lol. berea’s my only hope!

yeah its a bummer they dont let internationals take engineering. what are you guys planning to major in if you do get accepted? i was thinking economics or computer science.

According to international FAQ : “International students can participate in pre-professional programs. However, international students should be aware that after they complete their courses of study at Berea College, they must go through a separate application process with the college, university, or institute that they will wish to attend after Berea College. Furthermore, international students will have to reapply for a new student visa with the new school that they wish to attend. There is never a guarantee that an international student will be granted the new visa to continue studying somewhere else.”

But let me confirm this with the admission office.

@shinodarocks although 3 acceptances but they gave me about 40% aid so I can’t go unless I have take a loan of $30000

think thats for grad school

shinodarocks- Woah that’s really cool that you were an exchange student too. Did you go on the YES program like me? I knew quite a few Bangladeshi students from my batch of 2009-2010. I hope we both get selected from our own countries! Will be so cool to hang out with another exchange student in Berea :P

lol yeah YES program. i was in the 2010-11 batch though. hope we all get in!!

Tomorrow is the big day! I have been accepted to lehigh university (Probably full-ride) and waitlisted at Harvard, Brown, Johns Hopkins and Middlebury.
However, I will accept my place at Berea if I get accepted! Cause you get full-ride for 4 Years!!!

Are they releasing their decision tomorrow?

@batuli They said that they would notify us on April and mail us by April 15. They didn’t mention april 1st though.

they mentioned it on Facebook! April 1st :)

@alijamali are you sure about that? I just checked their facebook page but I did not find any such notice. When was the message posted on facebook?

Go look in the “post by others” section. I have asked the question myself and if you read the comments you see the reply

Where in facebook, btw? Any link of their page where they have said such?
