Berkeley Admissions Released Early?

If this is true, I am happy to be a member of the first CC all nighter cal myth busters gang. Now I can’t sleep and just wonder. Although my stats are right in range for cal and a little higher than UCLA’s I still got rejected from UCLA but got into UCSD so I can’t help but wonder now until Thursday. This is really biting away at me.

Oh good Lord, I searched my name and it popped up with a legit Cal ID (Starting with number “9” right?) I got into UCLA but I’m not regents. I hope this is true! Good luck everybody!

just seems wrong to have a publicly accessible database that lists ALL admitted students, and not just those who have decided to enroll. there are privacy issues involved, and can’t imagine this is working as intended.

hmm…ima go to sleep now…let the truth be told on thursday i guess…haha, wish everyone luck, hoping this is a truthful website

would this list apply to transfers as well?

Some users have said that their names are not on the database. Do you guys think that this distinction is that between an acceptance and a non-acceptance?

^That’s what we have been trying to figure out for the past couple of hours. I personally don’t know what else it could be a distinction between, but I can’t help but feel a twinge of excitement that my name appears on the list.

I’ve searched up names of people from my school, and two of them (who I believe shouldn’t be accepted) are not on the list. Many others who I believe should be accepted are on the list. Oh God… Please tell me I’m in! I don’t know if I can wait for the 24th.

If it does indicate acceptance/rejection, this is such a privacy invasion!

I believe this to be true. The names that have popped up so far have made sense. I’ve seen athletes, Regents Scholars, Non-Regents rejected from UCLA (in spite of high qualifications), and Non-Regents accepted to UCLA.

Whatever happened, it’s highly probable that this is true. The only possible exception (straight from a current Cal student) is if they’ve not finished loading all the names (very, very few people). I think the writing’s on the wall here.

think its an accurate list of admittees. complete, who knows. probably was supposed to go into a pre-file and released publicly once SIR processed.

Maybe I’m just too harsh of a critic. Their are a lot of kids I know that aren’t on that list and rightfully so, but I think the doubt is those kids that got in that are so surprising. I don’t understand how it’s possible that they got in haha. I guess this list is legitimate because what else could this be? What other distinction besides rejection could not being on this list mean? I can’t possibly see any other distinction. I’m open to ideas.

hey guys,

Boston College has a similar page like that too, but you can pay for your tuition etc. in it. I’m on that list since december BUT I was DEFERRED early action. I cana ctually pay tuition here. maybe cal’s directory is just like BC’s

here’s the link to the “My Bill” thing- ( actually, only my parents can pay for the tuition, but I can’t access the site using my own portal)

[My Bill - Boston College](http://www.bc.edu/offices/stserv/financial/billinfo.html)

it makes me wonder that it is kinda not possible for everyone on this thread to be admitted since they found their name

maybe its just for all the applicatns who applied?

and honestly…i really think that im not even qualified to be admitted to berkeley considering my super low stats. so thats why im still skeptical

Well not everyone on this thread was but a majority which make it really seem fishy (not trying to take it away from anyone here). But on the other hand, I can easily search 7-8 names I know that applied that do not appear on the list so maybe that is reassuring.

^^^I did not see my name nor did a couple of my friends that happened to be awake. This is like the UCLA engineering likely letter all over again…

@Supernaut, you received a likely letter from UCLA but you didn’t get in??? That’s harsh if it’s true!

Maybe the names of all applicants will be loaded onto the website, but the admissions office hasn’t gotten to them yet? After all, the actual decision release date is in a few days - the adcom may still have some applications left over.

But then again, this was written about CalNet four years ago.

Also, to quote user pingu:

Interpret it however you’d like.

I think he meant he didn’t receive the UCLA letter judging by his tone…

Can someone try to identify what number the ID numbers started at this year with the fall admits and what is the last entered ID number and find the difference. If the difference is around the number cal admits each year I think we have our conclusive answer. I’d do it myself right now if I didn’t have a Calc BC test tomorrow and I’ve already stayed up until 3 AM without even doing any of the HW this chapter. (Such a good work ethic for a Cal hopeful haha)

hahahha!! not to rub in ur face, but i have sprink break next week, =D, ill try to see what i can do…
