Berkeley applicants who didn't apply for financial aid...

Did you get Cal's emails today? I'm freaking out about this. I should really concentrate on doing well on my midterm today, but I can't...
No one who didn't file a FAFSA got any emails today, right?

I didn’t apply for financial aid and did not get any email from Cal. What does the e-mail say?

The e-mail is only sent to people who applied for FAFSA. don’t worry about it.

Dear FoggyFuture,

We have recently created your 2011-12 financial aid offer. You can view your financial aid awards and any messages we may have for you on MyFinAid at https://myfinaid.berkeley.edu. Every student receiving financial aid at UC Berkeley has a MyFinAid account. You will need your CalNet ID to access MyFinAid.

Throughout the year, MyFinAid is where you will find updates to your financial aid award summary, as well as messages from us about payment status, any changes in your eligibility, and any financial aid requirements, such as forms we may need you to submit. MyFinAid is your primary source of information about updates to your financial aid package. We recommend that you check MyFinAid regularly.

We also recommend that, for your records, you save an electronic copy or print a paper copy of the MyFinAid Award Details page any time there is a change. Keeping a record of the awards you have received will help you in the future when you apply to programs beyond your first college degree. For example, many master’s and doctoral programs require undergraduate financial aid information as part of the graduate financial aid application process.

Another helpful resource to check regularly is the Financial Aid and Scholarships website at [UC Berkeley Financial Aid and Scholarships Office](http://students.berkeley.edu/finaid/). Our website contains information that all financial aid recipients need to know and is updated regularly.

If you have questions, please do not reply to this email; the email address from which this message was sent is unmonitored. Contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at:
Telephone: (510) 642-6442, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
Email: fao_ugr@berkeley.edu

Sincerely,
Financial Aid and Scholarships Office Staff

I hope you’re right Vedanta. UC Berkeley is my first choice, and right now I want to get in more than ever before.

@Foggy: You applied for FA, right???

I didn’t apply for FAFSA last year, and i didn’t get the e-mail, and got in anyway. don’t worry about it.

Didnt apply. So no email

You’re cheering me up a bit there, guys (only a bit though).

i applied for FAFSA and didn’t get an email. ='[

@deanzatransfer. Yes, I applied for FA.

Didn’t apply for FA, so no email here also. Just need to wait one more day for admissions anyways.

“created Financial Aid offer” notice it didn’t say create an actual Financial Aid package, offer meaning if you get in then we will create the package.

um…I think “created FA offer” IS the FA package. i don’t see how that means they will create your awards and everything later. plus, someone here who had a CalNet ID from summer session and got the email was able to see their gift aid and everything.

Also, those who didn’t apply for financial aid are freaking out for no reason. There’s no way you would get the email if you didn’t apply for FA.

Yeah, no email here bc I didnt apply for FA. (obv.)

I know its just one more day and I didnt think I even wanted to go to Cal that badly (mostly bc I figured my chances were slim) but now my stomach is in knots. It would be awesome to go there for the poli sci dept. I’m so jealous of all the people who submitted a Fafsa, bc at least they have some indication, unlike us D: Thank GOD decisions are tomorrow. This is nothing like the hysteria I felt for UCLA decisions after reading all the speculation threads for days…

@deanzatransfer: I go to DA too! And FH :P

OFFER OFFER OFFER

An offer means they will see if you can get it (ie if you get accepted)

…did you even read the email?

“We have recently created your 2011-12 financial aid offer. You can view your financial aid awards and any messages we may have for you on MyFinAid at https://myfinaid.berkeley.edu”

they aren’t going to create the package after you’ve been accepted; they’ve ALREADY made it. this is why the two people who already had CalNet IDs were able to login and see all of their awards. i’m sure if more people here had their IDs from summer session they’d be able to see their awards too.

I applied for FAFSA but I didn’t get the email. :frowning: However, I was missing signatures and didn’t submit or get it fully processed until March 3. LOL, but UCSB gave me an award letter. But you guys don’t have CalId’s yet right? How can you check then…

You cant check them until youre admitted. I read somewhere here that your cal Id will be on your acceptance letter.

Done with my midterm, off to obessing about info on CC…
It seems like they people who applied for FA and got the email are in. This whole thing is making me so nervous because I still don’t even vaguely know if I’ll get accepted or rejected. I probably can’t sleep at all tonight.
