Berkeley campus -> Ikea

Hello,

I apologize for making a separate thread just for this one question,
but the matter is pretty urgent for me. Can anyone tell what is the
fastest way to get from campus to the Emeryville Ikea by public
transportation?

Thank you very much!

taxi?

try 511.org

Taking the F bus takes you really close to IKEA (get off at Shellmound, or w/e) The F takes a weird circuit, however, so you’ll have to get onto a different stop to go back to Berkeley. Otherwise, you will find yourself in San Francisco. Use google maps for more information.

take the F, it takes you right to ikea

to get back, take the 57 (its the only bus that stops there), get off at telegraph, then take the 1 all the way up telegraph

If you don’t want to take the bus, go to MacArthur BART. There is something called Emeryville Go Round. Wait at one of the signs for Powell/BART Shopper. This bus is free for everyone. Ask the bus driver for help with the IKEA stop. The return bus to MacArthur BART also stops near IKEA so you can get back on it after.

If you’re going to buy much at IKEA, I suggest renting a car or finding someone who has one.

The bus and public transport are fine for getting to Shellmound (in fact, it’s a nice little shopping center to spend time & money), but actually getting stuff from place to place is better left to a personal vehicle.

Yea, does IKEA ship? Because if not you’re going to have a hard time getting materials via public transit.

yeah they deliver but charge like $75

The first 300 pounds is $79, I think, and every pound after that costs 10 cents.

^
yep .
