Berkeley: Changing housing preferences?

Can we still change our housing preferences until June 6 if we have already submitted the application and the $20 fee?

I would think so? I’m wondering about that too – I keep debating between Channing-Bowditch and Wada.

Yes you can datransfer! I’ve changed my housing preferences like 12 zillion times already haha.

and dezziner maybe you should go with c-b as your first since wada is so hard to get into? wada is my first though so maybe that’s hypocritical of me to tell you that haha

lol well everyone keeps saying how Wada is amazing – but I haven’t been able to see any pictures inside! C-B seems nice from the outside and you get more room it seems. I keep reading that it’s a little dead which I guess is okay (I mean it’s a place to go home and relax) but if someone had a small party (not like a crazy gross party), are they strict about it?

But I keep leaning towards Wada as well. D: I’m going back and forth. I also hear cell phone reception is bad in Wada cuz of the concrete walls which concerns me.

thats weird because I thought I read that c-b would be chill with little kickbacks like that and that wada would be a little sketch for those kinds of things??? I might be just confusing the two though. But yeah I definitely heard that about wada but I kind of like that in a way so I can actually study…hahahhaha im just strange like that.

actually, i’m going to be going there tomoro morning. if you want, i can try and find a way in and then try to text/make a call to see if it’s true or not! hahahahahaa no im not joking

Oooh def try to make a call if you can LOL. I was so close to sneaking in a couple of weeks ago.

I was looking at the C-B terms and there’s a specific clause about noise. =/ I mean, I want to be able to invite friends over since I have a bunch that are in the Bay but aren’t at Berkeley – so it would get a little loud.

I’m just really indecisive! I found a video of someone’s Wada apartment though, if anyone cares:

[YouTube - ‪UCB Unit 2 Wda apartment‬‏](<a href=“UCB Unit 2 Wda apartment - YouTube”>UCB Unit 2 Wda apartment - YouTube)

And I found some pictures of C-B as well:

WOW i love you for finding that! that is the FIRST time i’ve ever seen inside Wada!! although, i have to say, those walls are HORRENDOUS. what was Berkeley thinking?! And in comparison, c-b looks WAY better…only thing stopping me from putting it down as one of my choices is that i can’t do the lease :/

and dude, i think Wada has a clause about noise too. I mean, it technically is a dorm, and all dorms have noise restrictions. so i don’t think you should base even a fraction of your decision on that.

and i will update this thread tomoro after i return from berkeley on the status of my breaking and entering wada :)

Yeah! The walls are fugly lol. I’m thinking about putting a big sheet on the wall to cover most of it or something if I get Wada. I hate C-B’s 12 month lease thing – that’s another factor. If I do summer I’d just commute.

Yeah the noise thing isn’t my biggest factor – I think I’m just scared of making a choice without physically seeing it.

Good luck with sneaking around Berkeley tmw haha.

okay i literally waited around for like 20 minutes for someone to come and open the door for wada but it was SO dead today…like no one was walking around or anything -_____- but I made a call from inside the recreation room (i think thats what its called). as soon as i went down the steps, my phone went start Roaming and while i could send texts, i couldn’t get calls or make them.

while i still do think its kindaa good for me studywise, i actually now feel like its going to be a bit of a pain when i actually do have important calls to make.

other than that though, i just had a fantastic day in Berkeley :D

Hmm interesting. Maybe I’ll try to do the same too ahahaha. Thanks for trying it!
