I'm a Bruin that traveled up North this weekend for the game. In spite of the loss, all I can say is you guys have an amazing game day atmosphere. I walked around the campus and it was great to see all the booths canopies set up. The best part was walking through the frats where every house turned up the music and partied in the front yard. I've never seen anything like it.

At UCLA, our Saturdays are NOTHING like that. As a matter of fact, nothing happens on campus. It's just like any other day, but this is probably because our stadium is in Pasadena and not on campus. Either way, I must admit I really envy what you guys have.

Lastly, your college town is great. I love La Burrita and the Asian Ghetto!

For any that went to the game, I hope the Bruin fans you guys met were nothing short of classy.

haha La Burrita IS amazing! I had it yesterday too! Yeah, berkeley’s atmosphere is a LOT different than I expected as well! I’m so glad I came here over some of my other top choices, which I didn’t get into because now that I know what it’s like here, I don’t think I would’ve liked it as much at the other places. Although I’m sure UCLA is good in other ways too! : ]

Not to totally spoil your delight, but it IS homecoming weekend after all. That’s probably why there were tons of booths set up around campus and such. Normally during game days we don’t have those. But most everything else is the same as you saw (frats, food, etc.)

Yeah. What jb said. Also, I wonder what gamedays are going to be like next year since we won’t be playing at Memorial. I mean gamedays are fun because you can head to the game at any time, but when it’s at ATT…

Every home game for Cal will be sold out next year. ATT is only 40 something thousand big. Playing in that MLB stadium is going to be a unique experience and it’s right in San Francisco.

Maybe sold out if you include people in SF, but counting only Berkeley people, I very much doubt it. (Or people might buy season tickets I guess, but they won’t attend every game).
