Berkeley Conditions of Admission Corsework Changes...

^ i feel the same way. but i just wanna send in my flippin SIR already!!!

@redo: I know, I wish it were Monday (after my exam ;)). Although I REALLY Don’t think it should be a problem for us, this “issue” is on my mind 24/7 now. WHY do I always have to have something to obsess about?!

@cherryvaseline: I really want to SIR too!

i dont see why it should stop you guys from SIRing! i did! lawl but if anything happens to me then you guys can point to me as an example of idiocy.

edit: dont SIR guys! i just read that when you submit your SIR you’re actually agreeing to those conditions. AKA you’re agreeing that you’ll take those classes.
WOOPS, if this negatively affects me, i’ll REALLYYY just have to kill myself.

@ victor5555: My major is chemical biology. I think we’ll be fine. It wouldn’t make sense for them to rescind the admission just because we couldn’t take one recommended course. I mean, we did list it as “planned.”

omg guys now i’m freaking out – i am dumber than dumb and this situation is stupid. like i’m going above and beyond on my current spring schedule with 4 classes and EXTRA HISTORY classes. i only listed 3 of the most easiest, lamest classes on my january update.

this is so shiittyy

@redo: Did you change more than one class?
For me, the class I switched to is also probably harder and more work intensive than the class I originally listed…

@ Rigoletto
I’m chemical biology too. What recommended classes are you missing just out of curiosity?

or was differential equations the only one?

haha i am currently taking NONE of the classes i said i would on my january update. i guess i’ll just wait to see what happens. i still have ucsd on the table!

@redo: If you aren’t taking LESS units than you said you were and haven’t changed major pre-reqs or IGETC classes it should be fine.

@killmyentourage: They didn’t really specify which courses are recommended (only that we should have additional science courses) so I don’t know. But for lower division prereqs, I still need to finish differential eq and a third quarter of ochem.

What school do you go to and are you taking your ochem in Spring quarter at your school or do you have to take it in the Fall at Cal? I have to take Physics 7B when I transfer but I took Physics 7C this semester so I think it counts as part of the upper division Chem or Allied Subjects electives.

And ■■■ I just found out I have to take Bio 1A & 1AL AGAIN (I’ve already taken like 5 bio classes) because I didn’t take the class specifically on Zoology. :(

thanks datransfer, now YOU’VE cheered me up a bit  and yeah i’m now taking 4 classes when on my update i said i would be taking 3. igetc/pre reqs = done!

when i told my uncle what was going on, he said “well atleast you got in, not many people can say that” which also cheered me up a little.
but of course, actually fewer people can say they’ve graduated from there…which is what i really want ahahah.

anyways, ill update the situation on monday!

datransfer - hope that doesn’t apply if you already have 60+ units… i ended up adding completely different list electives like redo, but i’m not taking as many as i had planned or reported in the update.

@cherryvaseline: How many units did you plan to take and how many are you actually taking?

@killmyentourage: I go to Davis. I think I’m going to take the ochem and math classes over summer at Davis too before I transfer. What college do you go to and are you taking any of your major required courses over the summer?

I go to Orange Coast College in southern CA. I have to take Diff Eq over the summer at my school (that is surprisingly offering it). I always forget that I’m technically missing that pre-req too since I plan on taking it before I transfer. I was thinking about taking Phys at UCR since they have pretty open enrollment for the Summer but I only need 11 classes at Cal (incl Phys 7B & Bio 1A) to graduate so I might as well just wait and take it there and then I don’t have to pay for an extra summer session lol

being cheap FTW

@ deanza - i reported that i was going to take 27 units (this included for-fun courses like oil painting, yoga, etc.)…but I’m actually only taking 19. After Fall, I had about 75 units already.

@cherryvaseline: Although you have 8 units less than you said you would take, 19 units is still a lot. You already have 60+ semester units and you say you’re only not taking “fun” classes…
I don’t think it’ll be a problem. Did you send a letter or fax?
