Berkeley does not have an art major/minor??

<a href="http://www.berkeley.edu/academics/departments/a.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.berkeley.edu/academics/departments/a.html</a></p>

I want to major in English however I would like to minor in art (preferably studio art).

I did not see this option in the list of the many departments at Berkeley. I noticed art history and art practice (which upon reading about seemed to be the closest field to a studio art major however I did not see that they offered it as an undergraduate minor).

No studio art minors at Berkeley? Say it isn't so. :(

Art practice is studio art.

Alright.

I just was unable to find if they offered it as an undergraduate minor.

Do they??

As far as i know, they do not, but in many cases you can take many classes in departments that don't offer minors.

Well thanks for the "heads up", as disappointing as it was and all.

Do you, or anyone for that matter, know how the art history program there as far a minor. Is it more theory based or do they incorporate some actual practice into the cirriculum such as an art studio program?

It's theory based. I think there is an offered minor. I advise that you check the list of minors. There will be far more than enough art for you to do if you want in Berkeley and surrounding area, but you just won't get recognized credit (a minor) for doing it.

and there's no rule that says to be an artist you have to have a degree
