But, EECS=impossible to get into. Or so I'm told.

Hopefully, we'll both get in, then this entire discussion will be rendered nill.

I was rejected from Berkeley EECS (out of state) in 2000 with a 4.4/1510/800/800/780/10 AP 5's, National Merit Finalist, National AP Scholar, Top 50 in National Chemistry Olympiad, etc.

Oh wow, I'm screwed.

This is why I should've applied in Women's studies.

What's EECS again? electrical engineering computer science?

Yes, it's the most selective major at Berkeley.

oh... is that a double major or something? cuz i never heard of EE and CS together..

EECS is impossible, thats why I applied to Mechanical, but im out of state, bummer for me.

Desbravo....that 3.75 weighted GPA is killing you

EECS is just the name of the department. You can choose to concentrate in either EE or CS or a general option in between the two.

Somebody tell me I'm not screwed. Please?

you're screwed.

I don't think you're screwed. Admission to UCLA and UCB is nothing less than a tossup; they have so many (over)qualified applicants that it is hard to say if you'll get in for sure, but I think you have just as good a chance as anybody else.

Good luck :)

In 8 days, I plan on logging onto MyBerkeley App, and seeing something to the extent of:

Howdy Cal Applicant! Considering how much you rock, and how much we like you, its a no brainer that you've been admitted to UC BERKELEY BYATCH!!!

Wakakakakkakakakakka!

Hopefully, I'll get in, and so will everyone else who applied and desperately needs to get in to ensure their respective sanities.

<33 Much loves! ^_^

That's the spirit!

I applied to ME instead of EECS. I think its like a 39% acceptance vs 11%, so ill take my chances with the better odds.

Berkeley has on an average 24% acceptance rate.

yea i think certain majors are harder than others (like EECS). though when combined, it gives an average of 24% acceptance rate.
