Berkeley Haas 3rd Quarter of Calculus?

Haas changed their requirements this year for students entering Fall 2012 so you have to take 3 quarters of calculus by spring quarter...but since I was following assist.org from last year, my schedule got messed up, and I can only complete 2 quarters...

I'm really worried right now, and there's basically no way that I can get a 3rd quarter of Calculus in by the end of spring...

Does this mean that I'm automatically ineligible?

if it says required…then probably not eligible. Think of all the other students that will have all the math done. I’m taking diff eq’s and linear algebra this semester and have calc 1, 2, and 3 done. The only math course I have to take is discrete math, and probably stats and probability.

Maybe maybe not. Just wait till April and see how it goes.

Good Luck.

Math (Calculus): Two semesters (or three quarters) of calculus is required.

MATH 1A Calculus (4)|MATH 1A & Calculus (5)

|MATH 1B Calculus (5)

MATH 1B Calculus (4)|MATH 1B & Calculus (5)

|MATH 1C Calculus (5)

– OR–

MATH 16A Analytic Geometry and (3)|MATH 1A Calculus (5)

Calculus |

MATH 16B Analytic Geometry and (3)|MATH 1B Calculus (5)

Calculus |

My CC assist.org page says this… Does that mean I can do the second one? :/

If that is what’s listed next to Calc 1 and 2, then at your school you need those 3 courses to satisfy the requirement.

What school are you at?

I see how you can choose years when you are attending your school. Make sure its on 10-11 for your community college for your required classes.

I go to De Anza - it’s weird, because even up to last, it said that only one quarter of calculus was okay (though Haas said 2 were required)…

That ASSIST listing appears to be contradictory.

The Berkeley Haas UGBA major requires either Math 1A-1B (calculus) or Math 16A-16B (calculus for business majors). Both are two semesters, though Math 16A-16B is fewer units because it covers the material in less depth. The De Anza articulation list indicates that De Anza Math 1A-1B (two quarters) can be used for Berkeley Math 16A-16B, but you need De Anza Math 1A-1B-1C (three quarters) for Berkeley Math 1A-1B.

Contact the Berkeley business school for your answer.

Thanks ucbalumnus! I just called the Haas undergrad admissions office, and they said that I’m totally okay. I think I might still add a note about it in the additional comments area though. :)
