Berkeley HAAS personal statement question

How many essays for HAAS do you have to write/ how much is the first personal statement weighed compared to the rest? If I am not mistaken, these are the personal statements transfer students must write this coming fall correct? http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/12626_5.Info_TransAdm.pdf

Just wanted clarification on the matter.

bump it up

As far as I know, 2 general prompts for all transfer applicants during November, an extra essay and a resume next January. So 4 total, I guess.

For your 2nd ?, the essay and resume weigh 1/2 of the admission decision, according to their website: [Application and Selection Calendar, Undergraduate Program - Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley](<a href=“Admission FAQ - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas”>Admission FAQ - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas) . Having said that, it all varies from applicants to applicants so just do you best, don’t worry too much abt this scale ^o^

Thanks,

so the 3 essays are all weighted equally?

I don’t know, just put your heart into each essay lol
But the third one may be weighted more than the other two since it’s exclusive for Haas, I guess. Ask those folks that got into Haas this year for more details :D

The third essay is the one that tests how much of a match you are for Haas. I would consider it the most important. If you have something really awesome to say, reserve it for that one.

Thanks! how do you know about this?

I was accepted to Haas. They asked for an essay on the principles of the school. I’d recommend you to spend some time learning about their values in order to formulate them the way they expect you to.

hi sonomono, what kind of topics they are often asking for?

Last year’s topic:

Thank you so much for this post Ms. Sun. My first two statements are done, so now I can think about this one ;-P!

i think the third essay is for January update

Don’t start writing just yet, the topic might change.
