Berkeley majors - post them up please!

Major: Neuroscience (I think!)
GPA:3.5 ish
Pre-reqs: All complete except physics
IGETC: If from another UC so having it done right now is kinda hard
Essays: Pretty damn good, at least i thought they were!
EC’s: Volunteer, tutoring nothing special
Work:none

Not to worried about UCB. UCLA is where I wanted to go, and I got in!

lol… it’s pretty funny when people grade their own essays. But what can you do? People want some idea of how good (or bad) it is.

game_theory im pretty sure that they “stats” for Haas will be every high as usual…and do u mean to say that if they are high you wont apply next year and ull wait another year, or did i misread that?

I’m in the middle of deciding whether I want to apply for Haas or just Berkeley econ this fall. If I pick the former then I’ll have to take like an extra 21 units or so, so I’d like to know if admission rates are even more cutthroat this year. If it stays relatively consistent from the previous years (20~25% among qualified applicants), then I’ll have to consider applying.

The number of spots is the same every year, around 95. The number of applicants, however, increases every year.

game_theory: LOL the units thing is why i switched to econ, actually not really, it was more the having to take spanish or any other foreign language (i only took 2 years in HS). but im reconsidering Haas right now, the people i know that go into Haas had pretty much tha same GPAs as those who go into UCB econ (except one, she got into Econ with a 3.4 and not much else).

Rhetoric (Public Discourse).

Transfer Program: One and Only El Camino College
Work: Internship with CPA, assistant to Engineer.

funny thing is…that’s still probably not good enough for HAAS

If that’s not good enough for Haas then I don’t know what is. I’m sure you’ll be fine.

sigh I don’t have any ECs near as good, and I doubt I will by application time.

Major: MOlecular Bio and Biochem
GPA: 3.7
Pre Reqs: missing one
IGETC: Complete
Essays: 8/10
E.C.: little
Transfer Program: None

Not really worried…You see LA is my 1st choice anyway…

Kind of weird that people are getting all butt-hurt over this thread. What’s the big deal?

Major: Media Studies
GPA: 3.83
Pre-reqs: Completed three, one is not offered at my CC (Mass Comm 10)
Essay: Excellent
EC: Work part-time in the transfer center @ my CCC, volunteer 4 hours/month at an animal shelter

wow ur school doesn’t have communications 1?
i’m at smc, a fall '10 media studies applicant, and on assist.org it shows that comm 1 is the same as mass comm 10.

No. According to Aarti (not sure of she is your Cal rep or not), SMC is the ONLY college in the LA area that offers an equivalent. They said that I don’t have to take it at my college since it is hardly offered anywhere. :-(

^
It’s just weird because we find out in three days. Once we find out, it will be more beneficial for future transfer students to see who got in/who didn’t, and so on and so forth. Plus I assure you there will be threads just like this!

Good luck Cal applicants! xD. [:

I understand sakurax. I think that people are just excited, that’s all. I’m sure that people will participate in those threads too, but I am still a newbie. :-)

^
Yeah we are. Look at the thread I made. ROFLMAO.

Three days!!! Ahh.

Yeah, the UCLA kids got their zillions of useless threads, let us have our more than one.

^^^^^^^^ word

major: gender & women’s studies
gpa: 3.782 (at vanderbilt university)

…already got into ucla? so i dunno honestly…

sweetpotato: why would you want to transfer from Vanderbilt to a UC??? Vanderbilt is a premier college, and many people would kill to get in (especially their med program) and its ranked higher than both Cal and UCLA
