Berkeley MET or Columbia C.P. Davis Scholar for BioEngineering?

I was accepted to both Berkeley (Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology program) and Columbia (C.P. Davis Scholar). I’m having trouble deciding between the two schools.

Tuition costs are negligible.

At Berkeley, I would double-major in BioEngineering and Business. At Columbia, I would major in Biomedical Engineering and minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

They’re very different schools wrt how the campuses feel - size, location, culture, so you should probably take the academics out of it, and see what kind of campus you prefer. Biotech opportunities may be better in the bay area. Have you been to either?

@theloniusmonk I’ve informally visited both campuses. Both of the schools have their official admit weekends on the same weekend, so I’m having trouble deciding which one to attend. I actually don’t have a preference for either campus - I think I fit into both quite nicely. I do like how Columbia has a smaller student body and greater access to research opportunities, but I don’t know how to weigh that against Berkeley’s slightly superior engineering curriculum and the special opportunities MET could provide me.

How? Outside of Columbia ED, neither school has released decisions yet.

^It could be thru Columbia likely letter and MET individual notifications.

I would say that if money is no issue go with Columbia, because MET can be such a pressure cooker that OP may not have time and energy left for entrepreneurial pursuit outside of classes.

MET typically needs 20 credit (instead of the usual 15-16 credit) semesters.

@Eeyore123 I received a likely letter from Columbia (shouldn’t have said I was accepted) and Berkeley MET results were released early February.
