Hello everyone.

I will soon be applying to Berkeley for my civil engineering graduate education but came upon a question.

How is it easier for me to get financial aid? By applying to the MS or the MEng? Berkeley is in fact weird about the fact that the MEng is the 2 year program, not the short one. I do not really plan to get a PhD and do not find it very moral to apply to it just to get the aid. But, I could get the MS and then stay for one more year to get the MEng, which is actually my goal.

And under the same line of thought, I suppose that it is easier to get aid for two year programs in every university, since they do allow time to research. Am I right?

Please answer as soon as possible as I will be applying very soon.

Oh... by the way. I am an international student (I do not know if that is a factor at all.)
