I had a question for the Berkeley online orientation you have to complete before CalSO. It asks you about your intended major and the courses you plan to take in fall. So, if you have already pretty much decided you want to major in something other than you applied for, can you just pick that major or do you have to choose the major you applied for?
Also, I completed the online orientation, but it is still on my checklist... Will it be checked off as soon as I'm ready to create my email and apply for CalSO? Does it really take two whole days for you SIR to be processed? I submitted mine today at noon and still can't create the email, register for CalSo, etc.

Yeah, definitely–but I’m not sure about the geography class.

Geography class???

lol jcohen is trippppppin

i couldnt do anything for about 2 days i think after i submitted my SIR. and dont worry i already turned in my SLR but its still annoyingly on the top of my checklist. and you can pick up to two majors for the online orientation cant you? sorry, i’m only like “46%” done lol

@ deanzatranfer: Yeah, just put down the classes you plan to take for your new intended major. It can be different from the major you applied to initially.

Hope to see you here someday!

EVERYONE WHO COMPLETED THE ONLINE ORIENTATION:
Does it still show up in your checklist???
I completed it twice now and it is still on my things to do list…
I’m able to register for CalSO, make an email and etc. now too.

Hey, yea it still shows up on mine. Which is good because I wanted to make changes to it.

I would put down the classes that you want to take for the other major you didn’t apply for…we are all coming in undeclared, so it doesn’t really matter if we petition for a completely different major in the same college.

Yeah, after completing the orientation, I feel like Cal doesn’t expect us to declare the major we applied for. The orientation gives you all this advice on how to DECIDE which major you possibly want to declare (nowhere in the orientation have I found anything about having to list the major you applied for as your “intended major”). I hope that’s good news for those of you wanting to switch majors!
