Berkeley or Cornell for Undergraduate?

In regards to their undergraduate program, which one would be better? How about for pre-med? Assuming that money and weather are not factors, please help, thx!

Go Bears! Hey I'm biased! I don't really know much about cornell, sorry.

So location is not a factor? Urban bay area vs. rural NY. Have you visited?

I think there's been a thread on this before...dunno.

oh wait this is your post! <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=60359&highlight=berkeley+cornell%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=60359&highlight=berkeley+cornell</a></p>

Similar competitiveness but berkeley definitely has a better environment.

wait you submitted your sir to cornell already? okayyyy why are you asking this then?

yea i did, i just need some reassurance that i chose the right school :) Everybody's been pointing me towards Cornell, that's why i submitted my SIR. But now i'm beginning to doubt, that's why i'm just looking for some reassurances :)

Now this is a worthy competitor to Berkeley. Cornell is Ivy, so there's an advantage, though its name isn't any bigger. Both are very difficult to get out of. Berkeley has the advantage in weather. Cornell apparently has high depression rates. But hey, you could have a great time at either. I don't know if everybody pointing you towards Cornell made it a good choice, it should have been based on your preference, but you can certainly do well at Cornell (if you like the cold).

Berkeley has a great reputation as a graduate school. For undergrad, I think Cornell is the better choice. Better food, worse weather, smaller classes, and probably more prestige.

hmm i think berkeley has more prestige. when people refer to cornell, they must add "ivy league"; on its own it's a little less well known. but both schools are very prestigious that's for sure. and both have large intro classes. and there's no guarantee that you'll get into berkeley grad school too.

DNA, what's the point of reassuring yourself? there's nothing to do about it now...so this thread is pretty useless.
