I'm thinking of eventually having a career in management at an engineering firm so I either have the choice of majoring in engineering, and then going into business school or taking stanford's management & engineering major (can anyone give me any information about this major?).

I know both schools have great engineering programs, but it stanford is unranked in USNews' best business programs.

So, given my goals, which school is better for me? Stanford or Berkeley?

Note that I love stanford and would probably be happier going there but I don't want to go there if it means that I'll have to go into a weaker business program.

Thanks

EDIT: i guess what i mean is, which path will make it easier (relatively speaking) to get into a top business school?

Although stanford doesn't have an ug business school, don't think for a minute that you can't get a great business education there. You sound like you're leaning towards stanford, so you might as well take the leap.

Ok, that is great. I'm fine it not having a undergrad school of business since I am planning to focus more on engineering undergrad anyways.

So now I'm probably set on stanford. Does anyone have any suggestions how I should reach my goal?

Should I major in engineering (would I need to minor in econ?) and then go on to a business school or should I try to take the management and engineering major option?

I would prefer the first path but the problem with it is that I know that getting into a good MBA program requires some job experience so how would i go on finding a business related job with an engineering major and would it be extremely difficult?
