So today I got an email congratulating me for getting into Berkeley and inviting me to the Overnight Stay Program which is only for admits. Problem is I found out a week ago that I was waitlisted. Is this email a mistake? What am I supposed to do?
Recheck your admissions portal to see if your status has changed. If it has not, call admissions tomorrow to clarify.
@takeitallin I did recheck my portal just in case and it still has not changed. I do plan on calling in tomorrow. I hope this isn’t some sort of a cruel April Fool’s joke…
My son got the same email last night and was very confused. Denied admission, but some strange details behind it. Did you hear anything from admissions?
I really hope you both got in- that would be really cruel otherwise…
@nnmmbbrr @takeitallin I called the admissions office today and they told me it was a mistake and my position on the waiting list as not changed. It’s upsetting how they handled this matter because Berkeley was my dream school and they got my hopes up again. Oh well, I guess all I can do is wait until May 1st.

I wonder how many others received that email and if it had any bearing as to if you would have been recipients of the scholarship had you been accepted 
It is horrible that they would make that mistake. I have to think they sent that email to a lot of people. They owe all who were affected a profuse apology. Add UCB to the list of schools sending out acceptance emails in error. So sorry this happened!
