Hello,

I'm looking for a pre-collegiate program in Berkeley for my high school friend from a foreign country. He intends to take a class that involves studying of computer science, math, or science (particularly cs, as he's talented in cs in general).

So my question was: can credits he will have achieved by the end of the pre-collegiate program in summer be recognized as an official college credit later on, when he attends college (like Berkeley) and major in computer science? For example, if he gets A in his program, would it be counted toward his official GPA for Undergraduate after he matriculate the university?

And also, how many maximum of credits can he take during summer pre-collegiate program?

Lastly, what's the difficulty of the classes, compared to actual classes undergraduates normally take in college? I'm well aware that the class is taught by an actual professor and many pre-collegiate students are placed with undergraduates, who take the same class in the summer school. But, how hard is it to get A in one of the cs course provided by the program? People say Berkeley CS is arguably one of the most difficult class to get good grades on because of all competitions among the smartest kids in the field of cs. But, I assume it won't be as competitive in the summer course, since not many people take summer school?
