Berkeley Questions

Here's just a plausible situation.

WHATIF:

-got rejected from berkeley
-appealed to berkeley
-appeal goes through for berkeley, however it is only for spring semester.
-can you go to UCSD for fall while you wait then go to berkeley for spring?
-If so, how does the SIR work?

good question.

NO, you can't do that...

if you're only in for spring, do the FPF or something... :S

Or just go to UCSD :P
{Pre-med or bio major, right? ^_~}

you can't go to ucsd for a quarter if you get Cal spring admission

The FPF program is pretty good, I heard.

Enroll in the Fall Program for Freshmen if you still can. its a great program, and its easy. you live in dorms generally or private dorms not owned by the university. you go to normal, berkeley-approved classes and eat in the dining halls like everyone else. even if you cant do this program, you should accept the spring admission. tons of students (near 1000) come to Cal in the spring as new freshman. its not a strange thing

No you cannot do that. Maybe you could take some classes at a CC.

FPF is not as good a program as people say. Class selection is vastly limited and they take place entirely off campus. (they are a few exceptions to taking 1-2 classes on campus) You will also be missing out on the energy and activities taking place on sproul plaza. I want to add, the "easiness" of courses at FPF is NOT on par with the level of difficulty come spring semester at cal. You will be in for a surprise.
