Berkeley Requirement Waiver?

I'm working toward transferring to Berkeley for engineering. I finished my first semester of English composition (ENGW 300), and am almost done with an additional semester of english,
"ENGWR 302 - Advanced Composition and Critical Thinking".

I just checked out ASSIST again, and it looks like while UCLA does accept 302 as a second English course, Berkeley does not. It lists "ENGWR 301 - College Composition and Literature" as the only acceptable substitute (at my college) for their "R1B" requirement.

I really hate writing. Please tell me I don't have to take another one of these classes.

P.S.

The ASSIST transfer agreement was not updated for 09-10. It's still 08-09. Am I grasping at straws with this? I can also write very well when I have to, so I'm sure I could pass some kind of writing exam instead of taking the actual class. Is that, or something like it, an option?

P.P.S.

I hope my CC counselor wrenches his knee when he gets out of bed this morning.

Update

Ok, I just lucked out. I was actually looking at a different college’s transfer agreement.

For R1B:

Berkeley does NOT accept 302 from that college, but DOES accept 301 from them.
Berkeley does NOT accept 301 from my college, but DOES accept 302.

I’m making a note here: Huge success

P.S.

I renounce any bad juju placed on said counselor
