Berkeley requires how many essays...?

<p>So the UC app instructions says two essays are required, and the third box isn't for an essay, but rather for any additional comments a student may need to make.</p>

<p>But this:</p>

<p>Says the third box should be a full-fledged, mandatory essay. Now, the link above is, I'm guessing, for 2007 transfers (I'm a '09 transfer), but I want to clarify this, because the third essay prompts looks the same as the optional, non-essay instructions for the third box.</p>

<p>The third essay is required for transfer students. I’m not a transfer student, but I wrote a short essay in the third box because it didn’t fit anywhere else in my personal statement.</p>
