Hey Guys,

For all of you who got accepted into UCB CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Now if you got accepted into Spring Semester 07 (as i did), what do you plan on doing for a whole semester off?????

I'm most likely going to go home (free rent! free food! or at least reduced cost) and work and save money like mad so that I can afford to NOT work when I'm at Cal in the spring.

Alternatively, I'll work a lot this summer and take a few months this fall to go to Europe. :)

Are you both going to Berkeley for sure? I'm debating between Fall UCLA and Spring Berkeley...what should I do? What would YOU do?

I'd go Fall if you're going to live on campus.

I'm going to spring Berkeley for sure. Submitted my SIR and everything. It's just very much worth it to me -- plus I get the opportunity to save money to pay for it, as I mentioned before.

Well I am in the Bay Area. And Berkeley has been my #1 school. Now that I get a semester off. I am thinking about working full time or traveling.

Traveling:

Pros = See the world

Cons = Spending all ya money

Working:

Pros= Making money

Cons = IT's Work....

If you got into Berkeley go for it especially if it is more convenient for you. If UCLA is more convenient than go for it. They are both Superb schools.

If I do decide to go to Berkeley, we should meet up, Undecided. We're the same major :)

i got in for spring as well. not too sure if i am happy with that but i wanted to ask how financial aid works for that since when you apply for financial aid it asks whether or not you will be a full-time student and what semester you start, does taking a semester off affect the process? thanks

Spring FAQs

Q: Will my spring admission impact my financial aid?
A: No. There is no impact on your financial aid.

I have no idea how financial aid works because I'm international/non-resident. I get nothing :

what's the difference between fall admit and spring admit?
im spring admit...
does berkeley "for sure" admit me?
or
i have to wait for the next notification in spring?

It's for sure.

do we graduate later if we're admitted for the spring?

Does anybody know about the extension thing. The decisions page said it Freshman Fall Extension was an option for transfers or something, but then I went to the site and it didn't say anything about transfers.

Bokchoi, congratulations! I am in the same situation. Fall 06 for UCLA or Spring 07 for Berkeley. I've spent 3 years at my cc and I start college 2 years late so I'm leaning towards UCLA. I gotta get out of here! Plus, Berkeley doesn't have straight EE, only EECS. What to do?

Haha, Bokchoi, definitely. ^^

I'm more than willing to meet up with any CCers anytime it's possible to ... I dunno, chat, party, hang out, whatever. That's the fun part of this process is sharing your stresses, successes and failures with people. :)

Just depends on the amount of classes you take, but probably yes.

I got in for the spring too! At first i was super ****ed and was certain about going to UCDavis in the Fall just to finally get away from my parents and my home city. But talking with a lot of my friends about my situation, I think in the long run the Cal degree will serve me better than the Cow degree. (just a joke, aggies!)

why does CC censor the synonym for urine...

hahah, I JUST wrote the same synonym in another thread and was blindsided by asterisks. Needless to say I was P1$$3D
