I am seriously considering spring…but I don’t know what to do for 6 months. Anyone can provide some guideline for appealing?

Anyone else rejected from LA but accepted to Berkeley for spring? I don’t know what to do!

guys its not just cuz ur philosophy majors. i dont have any of the 3 pre-req’s completed and i got fall! Emil, try appealing! haha

@beowulf what’s your gpa?

hey emil. what the hell are we supposed to do for the fall? continue csm?! AGAIN!? LOL

thanks btw

3.88 after fall…

4.0 Women’s Studies major in for the Spring.

@ Kevin: Dude…I’m so sick of CSM lmao. I guess we can enter into Berkeley’s program for spring admits, but we still won’t be official until the spring. I don’t know - I may go to UCLA; this has really perplexed me.

So many variables - so little time.

I really hope past CC-ers who have experience with spring admission for berkeley can come out and enlighten us about our options and their thoughts about this

Spring is toooooooooooo far away!!!

would we be Class of '13?

nah we wouldnt be class of 13. also i dunno if we’re allowed to do extension program…this is from berkey’s website though

Transfer students may not attend a four-year institution without approval from their UC Berkeley admissions officer (whose name appears on the online Conditions of Admissions form).

spring admission is good news! I would take a well deserved vacation and just have fun for 6 months!

hey fellow Spring Admits check out this thread

eits25 is awesome and is answering some questions.

@ooracle,
what was your gpa?

spring admits actually have an advantage if you graduate in 2 years. When applying to grad school, you’ll be able to submit your full transcript since you’ll graduate in December. Also, a lot of people write a senior thesis their last semester, so if you graduate in December you’ll be able to use that as your writing sample for grad school admissions. It does suck having to wait another semester, but you’ll be able to get a job and acclimate yourself to your new home. That way it won’t be a huge culture shock when you start school.

also it’s CHEAPER.
did I mention CHEAPER.

cost of a community college class
$60-100
cost of a UC class
$1000

I just woke up and I’m still not any clearer about what I should do next…I hope current spring admits will posts their choices in this thread…It helps to hear what the others are going to do even though our circumstances might be different. Thanks.

I’m also a spring admit (EECS), but I’m still thankful considering my out-of-state status. I’m hoping that I can extend my summer intern period to cover a longer span through Fall to make some extra money.I’m from out-of-state.

I took the 2011 Spring admit. I wanted to get to Cal, and they let me in, whether it be for spring or fall… look at it as a chance to relax before starting… Im coming off of working 65-70 hrs a week for the last 5 years, so i’ll take the extra 4 months as a very well earned vacation!

keep up the feedback guys… I think I am leaning towards CAL as well at this point but my parents aren’t happy that I am waiting 6-7 months as I took the spring quarter off as well. We can also discuss housing and other stuff as well as there are not many of us.
