So I know session #3 meets for 3 weeks instead of the usualy 6 or 8 weeks. I'm assuming the number of times this session meets is crazy, in order to make up for lost time. But I'm not finding any info on the website. For comparison, does anyone know the number of times the 6 and 8 week sessions meet per week, and how much the 3 week session meets?

You would need to pick a class that is offered in session E and then go to schedule.berkeley.edu to see how often the lecture/class would meet each week.

You should also understand that, classes of some type, say an organic chemistry class are only offered in one session, while a specific art class would only be offered in another one session. You cant pick what session you want to take a certain class in.

8 week meets about twice as often as it would during a normal semester. Or they make sections twice as long. Either way, time per week is doubled.

3 week I’d imagine is mostly small classes, things that are typically 1 or 2 units. A 4 unit class would be hell in a 3 week slot.

But Jweinst is right, if you’ve got a certain class in mind you’ll be in whatever session it’s offered during.

I assume you’re not a Berkeley student? I’m a senior in HS and was in session C (8 weeks) this past summer. For Intro to Econ, a 4 credit class, we met for 4 hours of lecture and 4 hours of discussion every week because of the double pace. I honestly don’t know much about the other sessions, sorry. Definitely browse the course catalog or even just call them for clarification!
