for IGETC followers, in the myBerkeleyApplication website, if you took 3 years of foreign language in highschool, do you still fill out the grades and course name and stuff in the section they provide?

I would guess not because at the top of the area for school it says college/university taken at.

What's the extra question on taken atleast 3 years of foreign language in high school, it asks for 2 above that. (ihave taken up to spanish 3 in hs)

My impression was that you need to tell them how you're satisfying IGETC's foreign language requirement. I did this by inputting my high school classes into the slots, and under university taken at I put the name of my high school, which includes the words "high school". To me, this seemed like the best way to do it, but you could also probably also mention it in the additional comments section.

The 3 years question is a confusing one. I interpreted it as for informational purposes only, as IGETC only requires two years of a foreign language.

Yeah, I was planning on doing what you did, but I don't have my highschool transcript on hand and it's such a hassle going there and waiting and getting it. Ugh, I guess I got to do it...

yeah, i think 3 years of foreign language means atleast the first 3 years of that language, so in your case skipping 2 levels supplements 2 years worth.

Didn't want to start a new thread and the subject here is similar, so I figured I'd just "resurrect" one instead of adding onto the thread count.

Is there any point in answering the foreign language in high school question if you don't plan to use it to satisfy the requirement? I mean, it's not that I'm intending on lying, but it seems to me that the question is aimed at people who opted to not take two years in college. And while I have completed three years, I'm currently in my second year of foreign language study in my CCC. Should I just say yes for the heck of it? I don't really feel like requesting a transcript when I don't really "need" it.

UC Berkeley requires its applicants to complete additional forms, available at admissions.berkeley.edu. You must complete the Berkeley forms in addition to the systemwide form. Applicants to Berkeley engineering majors have a February 2 deadline. The deadline for other Berkeley majors is February 15.
